Shredder hammers are the workhorses of the machine, transferring the massive kinetic energy of the rotating rotor to metal scrap for size reduction. Shengda offers all four industry-standard hammer styles, each optimized for specific scrap types and processing requirements:

• Bell-Shaped Hammer: The most widely used and frequently replaced style, ideal for general-purpose scrap processing due to its balanced impact force and wear resistance.
• Standard Hammer: Versatile design for mixed metal scrap, delivering consistent performance across diverse materials.
• Light Iron Hammer: Specialized for light-gauge metal scrap (e.g., sheet metal, aluminum cans), maximizing processing speed while minimizing energy consumption.
• Weight-Efficient Hammer: Engineered for heavy-duty applications, combining robust construction with optimized weight distribution to preserve rotor kinetic energy.

Pin protectors play a dual role in shredder performance: they shield the long retaining pins that secure hammers to the rotor, and reduce wear on rotor disks. Additionally, their strategic mass enhances rotor inertia, preserving the motor’s kinetic energy input—ensuring consistent impact force even during peak loads.

Bottom grates act as the final size-control barrier, preventing shredded metal from exiting the processing zone until it meets the desired particle size. These components endure extreme abrasion and repeated impacts from fast-moving scrap, making durability a top priority. For optimal performance, we recommend replacing bottom grates alongside anvils and breaker bars—ensuring uniform wear and consistent processing results.

Our liner range includes side liners and main liners, designed to safeguard the shredder’s internal structure from scrap-induced damage. Exposed to intense abrasion and impact during operation, Shengda liners are crafted from high-wear-resistant materials to extend machine service life and reduce maintenance costs.

Rotor caps and end disc caps provide critical protection for the rotor assembly, shielding it from direct impact by metal scrap. Depending on the shredder model, these heavy-duty components can weigh hundreds of pounds. Typically, caps require replacement after 10–15 hammer changeouts, or approximately every 2–3 weeks of continuous operation—varying based on processing volume and scrap type.

• Breaker Bars: Reinforce the shredder’s internal structure, absorbing and dispersing the high-impact forces generated by hammers striking metal scrap.
• Anvils: Serve as the initial impact surface for feedstock, guiding scrap into the processing zone and working in tandem with hammers to initiate size reduction. Both components are engineered for extreme wear resistance, ensuring long-term reliability.

Reject doors enable safe removal of unshreddable debris (e.g., large metal chunks, foreign objects) without halting full operations. Like other high-wear components, they endure significant abrasion and impact—Shengda’s design prioritizes durability to minimize replacement frequency.

Front walls form the first line of defense against incoming scrap, withstanding intense abrasion and repeated impacts during feeding and processing. Our front walls are precision-manufactured to fit seamlessly with major shredder models, ensuring structural integrity and long service life.
