Study and Application of Compound-Alloying Crusher Wear Parts

Compound-Alloying crusher wear parts which include jaw plates, liner plate, ball mill liner, bowl liners, cone liner and other casting parts. In this post, the service condition of crusher wear parts of grinding ball machines was analyzed. It was investigated that the wear of elements were made of compound-alloying cast iron using a slag containing “W”, and the wear resistance of the cast iron was 1.5 times higher than that of the high manganese steel. On the other hand, this method has low cost and simple process.

China’s ball mill liner, tooth plate and hammer and other crusher wear parts are made by high-manganese steel. As we all know, high manganese steel only in the course of the service with full hardening under the conditions to show a high wear resistance. It is clear that the hardening conditions in the ball mill are insufficient, thus demonstrating the superiority of high manganese steel. After we developed tungsten slag low chrome grinding ball, this high wear resistance of the grinding ball and liner, tooth plate will not be matched, do not have to use for a long time to shut down for the liner, affecting the efficiency of the ball play. In addition, high manganese steel to add more manganese and water toughness treatment, the higher the cost. To this end, we use tungsten slag production of low-chromium composite alloy grinding ball on the basis of the development of the crusher liner, hammer and tooth plate tungsten slag alloy cast iron, the wear resistance is good.

Analysis of Service Status of Crusher Wear Parts

The surface of the used cement mill liner, tooth plate under the scanning electron microscope, see Figure 1. Obviously the wear surface has a furrow and peeling pits, indicating that the liner in service, on the one hand by the abrasive in the grinding of the hard point of micro-cutting wear and tear; the other is also subject to grinding and abrasive repeated extrusion And frequent impact and produce fatigue wear off. Obviously, the toughness of the liner is required to cooperate with the hardness. And then the hammer as an example, Figure 2 for the hammer before and after the wear of the macro-morphology, hammer work, the hammer is not all used to break the object, only part of the hammer surface contact with the object. In addition, the measurement of high manganese steel hammer head surface hardness of only about 350HB, far less than its ultimate work hardening capacity of 450-550HB, we can see the impact of the hammer is not strong enough.

In order to improve the life of the hammer and liner, in the guarantee of sufficient toughness conditions, as far as possible to improve its surface hardness. To this end, we developed the tungsten slag low chromium alloy cast iron than high manganese steel should have a high original hardness, and have better work hardening capacity.
